On 6th November 2024, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress held their prestigious Grand Finale. Marking the end of the mayoral year, it was a wonderful final fundraiser. The event was hosted in London’s prestigious Guildhall, tailored to fit the night’s theme, ‘A Night at the Musicals’. A spread of intimate tables fashioned in a jazz club style provided a unique Guildhall experience, accompanied by musical numbers from Beyond Repair’s talented West End performers. Alongside the evening’s entertainment, an extensive silent auction ensured fundraising was a success.
Esharelife’s Chairman, Prof Maurizio Bragagni Esq OBE, and Trustee Ms Zilah Skerritt, were honoured to attend the event in support of the Lord Mayor’s charity partners. These partners pursue sustainable long-term solutions to some of the UK’s most pressing problems, a goal shared with the Esharelife Foundation.
MQ Mental Health Research is the UK’s sole charity exclusively focused on scientific research into the causes, treatment and prevention of mental illness. With the support of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, MQ Mental Health Research has been able to begin new research into the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on mental health, in order to find actionable recommendations and sustainable solutions.
Homewards, Prince William and The Royal Foundation’s five-year programme is dedicated to eradicating homelessness. The organisation seeks to prove that homelessness is not inevitable but is instead a solvable issue. In the UK, 1 in 5 people have experienced some form of homelessness, and 80% of people think that it could happen to anyone. Homewards seeks to show that homelessness is not currently a rare experience, but that through collaboration, homelessness could become ‘rare, brief and unrepeated’.
National Numeracy is a charity committed to improving the UK’s numerical capabilities. The aim is to reduce debt, fraud and unemployment by creating greater opportunities and more positive approaches to numeric education.
All three of these organisations seek to address national issues at their source, focussing on long-term sustainable solutions.
At Esharelife, we recognise the effectiveness of investing in education, mental well-being, and skills development. By empowering individuals in these areas, we can provide them with the hope and tools necessary to achieve and sustain a brighter future. Esharelife were pleased to attend the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, a truly worthy occasion, and we look forward to supporting and following the future successes of these inspiring organisations.
