On Thursday 7th November 2024, Esharelife Foundation was delighted to attend The British Red Cross’s Here for Humanity: Resilience in Action exhibition. The exhibit transported the audience into a crisis, inviting us to experience the significance of a Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement response in the midst of disaster.
The exhibition employed numerous mediums, including immersive installations, photography and sound. These mediums brought to life the work of The Red Cross, with collaborations from Colin Nightingale, Stephen Dobbie, Maheder Haileselassie and Emma Odumade.
Colin Nightingale and Stephen Dobbie are immersive theatre experts, known for their versatile repertoire with A Right/Left Project.
Maheder Haileselassie is an Ethiopian documentary photographer and visual artist. Maheder has worked closely with numerous NGOs to document women’s issues, celebrate communities working towards self-sufficiency and explore the challenges and possibilities of rural and urban development. She was the winner of The Contemporary African Photography Prize 2023 for her project Between Yesterday and Tomorrow.
Emma Odumade is a self-taught artist from Lagos, Nigeria. Emma specialises in hyperrealistic drawings, using charcoal on collage backgrounds and painted elements. Emma explores the concepts of beauty, identity and power in his work, and questions the connections between socialisation, relationships and the environment.
Esharelife is honoured to be able to contribute to The Red Cross, and grateful to have been so graciously welcomed by The British Red Cross’s Philanthropy Officer, Ella Green.
The Red Cross values impartiality, neutrality and unity to make their work possible. They believe in humanity and thus assistance without discrimination. Their values and their vital work are greatly admired by Esharelife. Esharelife thanks our generous supporters for making our contributions to this incredible organisation possible.
