The Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly affected a wide number of people and organisations around the world.
The Little Sisters of the Poor is an organisation that the Church has entrusted the Apostolic Mission of Hospitality to the Aged poor. The association attempts to support the elderly people who need it most as they find themselves in situations of extreme poverty.
The Little Sisters for Poor Home for the Elders have been deeply affected by the pandemic as well. Their activities rely solely on the generosity and support of people, indeed they have been operating purely on donations. The nuns of the home were not able to go out and raise funds in order to safeguard the residents and donations received from their congregation also ceased. The association really requires a long-term plan/support.
In these unprecedented times of crisis, the charity has been facing serious challenges. This is why Esharelife Foundation has decided to collaborate with the Friends of Batticaloa Hospitals which is now fundraising to support the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The Foundation has recently donated to the Friends of Batticaloa Hospitals £1,000 which will be devolved to support the charitable work of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
