Every year for the past 5 years, Esharelife Foundation has hosted an annual Christmas Party to fundraise for AVSI Kenya. The Christmas event is the most important annual event that the charity organises.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it was not possible for the charity to hold its usual Christmas Party which usually happens in London, at the beginning of December, and which brings together artists, philanthropists, members of the government, and Esharelife supporters to fundraise for AVSI Kenya.
Due to the current pandemic, the charity organised a Virtual Christmas Concert which was held on the 16th of December at 5.00 pm. The Foundation asked for the purchase of a £10/10€ ticket. The purchase of the ticket constituted a donation with which people have been able to support children and communities in Kenya.
Esharelife collected £25,000 from the event. The money has been used by AVSI Kenya for different purposes which are detailed in the AVSI Kenya report below. AVSI Kenya, which has been working in Kenya since 1986, contributes to the process of Adaptation, Coping and Thriving off the Dadaab community; attempts to tackle the issues of gender inequality in Baringo County by contributing towards the reduction of cases of female genital mutilation(FGM), child, early and forced marriages (CEFM), gender-based violence(GBV) and illiteracy. It promotes access to education and enhances sources of livelihood. Below you can find the official report received from AVSI Kenya regarding the donation received from Esharelife.
AVSI Kenya also expressed his gratitude to the Foundation in a letter to the Esharelife Vice-President, Dr. Domenico Aiello. AVSI Foundation thanked Dr. Aiello for the efforts he put in promoting the Foundation allowing AVSI to support 93 more children this year.
